Miami Student Counseling Services (SCS)
Find more information on their website here. To make an appointment, call (513) 529-4634 during our business hours (8AM to 5PM). The receptionist will arrange for an initial consultation (20-30 mins).
The purpose of the initial consultation is to identify your problems and to explore how to best meet your needs. The counselor that you meet with will explore with you the various options available to you and will help you to make a decision among these options. In an emergency, they work hard to see you as soon as possible.

Sexual Assault Resources
1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men will be sexually assaulted in college. The Student Counseling Service is here to support students who have been impacted by sexual assault.

SCS offers crisis consultation, on-going counseling, and group therapy for any student who is a survivor of sexual assault. Also, if you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted in the past 96 hours, we encourage you to speak with a counselor to get important safety and medical information or contact Women Helping Women’s 24-hour crisis response line (877) 899-5610.
While all of the counselors in SCS are trained to help survivors of sexual assault, the following counselors have been specifically identified as Sexual Assault response counselors.
-
John Ward, PhD, Associate Director for Clinical Services
-
Ashley Wilson, PsyD, Coordinator of Women's Services
-
Jennifer Young, PhD, Assistant Director for Outreach & Programming
